  • Reporting - Report Improvements
  • Timeline - Timeline View
    • Report on selected tasks in timeline format. Format online. Shares easily
    • A clearer view of tasks, milestones and phases. Expanded color palettes and text effects help you make every timeline visually effective to see and share important dates and deliverables. Easily view high level timeline, with user selected tasks and milestone
    • Allows you to easily create a high level view of your project plan that you can then share through other Office applications such as PowerPoint and Outlook. Drag the date line to zoom, show tasks within the timeline or call them out above, and of course once you are done, you can copy to past in an email or Microsoft Office product such as PowerPoint or Word.
    • It portrays key schedule information in a powerful and intuitive graphical manner. You decide which tasks are included in the timeline so it can be used to communicate specific schedule information to people who may not understand a Gantt chart.
    • Add selected phases, tasks, or milestones to a visual timeline, similar to the Visio timeline feature. The Timeline area displays in a simple view the key phases and milestones associated with a Project Schedule. This feature is beneficial for quickly showing everyone the high-level view of the project and its deliverables. You can easily add to the Timeline by right-clicking a Task or Milestone, and choosing Add To Timeline.
    • You can pick which tasks from your project show up in the Timeline. It allows you to create presentation ready depictions of important tasks that you can show to management or customers without having to show a Gantt chart. Project 2010 lets me put this graphic into other programs such as an email or a PowerPoint so I can show just these tasks in a very easy to understand format.
    • Steps to create Timeline view
      • Add Tasks - Simply right-click the tasks you want on the Timeline and select "Add to Timeline”.
      • Arrange Tasks-Now you can easily re-arrange tasks. You can drag tasks above/below/up/down.
      • Format the Tasks-After arranging tasks, through the Timeline’s Format tab format the tasks e.g. update the date format, set text lines to show, and highlighted some tasks with different colors.
      • Share the Timeline-Finally, you can paste the Timeline into other Office applications such as PowerPoint and Outlook by clicking Copy Timeline on the Format tab and selecting the proper size. When you paste the Timeline view, the items are pasted as individual Office Art shapes, so you can further format the shapes using the graphics power of those applications.
  • Integration & Synchronization
    • Office Suite integration - Able to use items like WordArt
    • SharePoint
      • The Project 2010 Client comes with the ability to update SharePoint — WSS or MOSS — including two way synchronization.
      • Publish Project schedule directly from Project Professional to WSS site and collaborate with Team Members on Task status. Ideal workgroup collaboration solution with or without Project Server.
  • Resource Management
    • Resource Selection - Select multiple resources from the drop down at one time
    • Incremental / Granular Leveling -Additional features are available to perform resource workload balancing on an individual resource or task basis, yielding more controlled and predictable results.
